Newton - 'replayed' National Final

  
      Th first couple of games have been selected with the following local players involved:

Sat 10th May 2pm v. Warwicks at Perrys		   The powes that be have had to relent and go back on their crazy decision of last years washed out final and it's being replayed on Sunday 18th May 2008 at Skegness Foreshore commencing at 1:30pm.  
      Adam Warrington (Blackstones) & Simon Lilley (Royal Mail Cart) play 2 & 3 respectively with Andy Dawson (Wyberton) at lead and Andrew Bird (Sleaford Town) skip. They unfortunately didn't adapt to the green as well as the opposition and lost 11-32.   As before, the following local players are involved:
John Allen (Royal Mail Cart), Eamonn Cherry & Paul Caress (both Ayscoughee) and Darren Adcock & Justyn Stanley (both Moulton). Best of luck to them all.		  
      Martin Spencer lead & Scott Dunham skipped (both Royal Mail Cart) and partnered by Derek Johnson (Railway) & Tony Gilroy (Perrys) faired much better returning with the Countys' only winning rink 23-15. The team lost overall 95-129 (3-19).   The 2008 campaign starts at Peterborough on Sat 31st May 2pm with Chris Mycock (Aysoughfee) joining all those above from last years team.  
      Sat 24th May 2pm v. Northants at Wellingborough   Result:  
      In a dramatically changed team, the following Section 4 players participated:
Kevin Ekins (Moulton) played 3 to Mick Asplen - lost 10-23
Adam Warrington (Blackstones) played 2 to Andrew Bird - won 19-18
Andy Dunham (Carters Park), John Allen & Scott Dunham (both Royal Mail Cart) played with Simon Reeson (at 3) - lost 12-21.
The team lost overall 90-134 (3-18).
   Lincs 197-139 Durham

A.Willey, John Allen, Eamonn Cherry - won 41-20
A.Mullen, Chris Mycock, J.Lewis - won 37-25
Paul Caress, N.Parker, Darren Adcock - won 37-15
D.Stayman, Justyn Stanley, K.Stevenson - won 27-21

Only one Lincolnshire rink lost - no wonder Dunham were happy with the previous seasons 'shared' situation!		  
     


Under 25 Double Rink

  
 
      A successful visit to Notts H.Q. for Martin Spencer (Royal Mail Cart) on Sun 11th May. Martin was promoted to skip with the withdrawal of Matt Orrey. The team won by 1 overall (42-41) with Martin's rink collecting a count of 4 on the final end to win the game and a rink final score of 28-21.
